The Bible presents us with a simple idea—that Jesus is the model human, the one every person is intended to emulate. This raises questions about what it means to be a man who models his life after Jesus? How does taking up our cross reshape our daily interactions with our children? What does Jesus say about fathers in His teachings and parables? How can we apply those in a modern culture that’s very different from the one of Jesus’ day?

In this workshop, Dr. David Erickson will try to answer all these questions. Looking primarily at the earthly life of Jesus, this workshop explores fatherhood in the context of following Jesus and modeling our lives after Him. While this workshop is primarily focused on dads, there will still be plenty of info that can help moms too!

        DR. DAVID ERICKSON
David longs to see God’s people recognize that how we live out our faith imparts theology to others. Nothing brings this into sharper focus than parenting as our daily lives constantly disciple those who know us most closely. David has previously served as a pastor, but since 2009 he has been equipping pastors, missionaries, and lay leaders as a professor of Systematic and Historical Theology at a Baptist seminary. He holds a Ph.D. in Theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, a Master of Divinity from BMA Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Arts in Bible from Central Baptist College.
